Center for Healthy Aging

       

 

The Center for Healthy Aging is a new program within the Harris College of Nursing & Health Sciences at TCU. It will provide support for healthy aging initiatives with emphasis on older adults, their families and their caregivers. The Center will work to support research, to provide educational opportunities for the immediate TCU community and local community, and to develop TCU curriculum programs with a gerontological focus.

 

Goals
The purpose of the Center is to plan, coordinate, advocate and implement education and research on aging in the university and the community.

 

Research
To encourage and promote healthy aging research focused primarily in TCU’s immediate service area.

 

Community Outreach
To promote healthy aging focused primarily in TCU’s immediate service area (i.e. metropolitan Fort Worth and Tarrant County).

 

Curriculum Development
To encourage and promote healthy aging through interdisciplinary gerontology education within TCU and for health and service practitioners.
